DRESS:
The winter months are much colder than the summer months. Everyone is required
to wear a hat, socks, and buttoned up coats to and from practice! A sick
swimmer is a sad swimmer. |
BEHAVIOR:
During the school day, you are expected to act as young ladies and gentlemen.
If there is problem with a specific class or specific teacher, work it out.
If you can't, let me know and we will work it out together. |
ELIGIBILITY:
You must have passed four major courses in the preceding marking term and
have a passing grade in P.E. You must also be participating in your Health
and Fitness classes. |
M.I.A.A. RULE 97.2:
"Bonafide Team Member" To be eligible for participation in a M.I.A.A.
sanctioned tournament, you must be a "Bonafide Team Member", "a
student who is regularly present for and actively participating in all team
practices and competitions. Bonafide Team Members are precluded from missing
a high school practice or competition in order to practice or compete with
an out-of-school team." |
MISSED PRACTICES:
You MUST contact the coach prior to missing practice. |
DETENTIONS:
Detentions will result in a temporary suspension or dismissal from the team

CLASS CUTTING:
Cutting class will result in a temporary suspension or dismissal from the
team. |
RULE 14 (UNDER SECTION 2)/ M.I.A.A.:
During the season of practice or play, a student shall not, regardless of
the quantity, use, consume, possess, buy/sell or give away any beverage
containing alcohol any tobacco product marijuana steroids or any controlled
substance. Upon confirmation of a chemical use/abuse, the athlete shall
miss 4 contests or 4 weeks, whichever is greater. on the second offense
the athlete will miss an indefinite amount of time and must meet with a
drug counselor before being able to compete again.Penalty:
Immediate suspension from the team for the season. |
SCHOOL WORK:
If you elect to remain at school until 4:50, you will be required to wait
in Room L-4 and study. If you don't have any homework to do, you should
study or read a book. I prefer that you not walk or hang ROUND THE SCHOOL!!

VARSITY LETTER CRITERIA:
To be eligible for a varsity letter, a swimmer/diver must (1) have totaled
11 or more points (2) successfully complete the season (3) have obeyed all
the rules and regulations regarding swim team practice and (4) must have
attended 90% of all meets and practices. |
TAKING THE BUS TO PRACTICE AND MEETS:
All athletes must ride the bus to and from practice/meets. Parents may take
their athletes only home from a meet only if the request is in to the althletic
director 24 hours in advance. If there is a medical emergency, the parent
may take the athlete home without a written request. |
EXAM WEEK:
Practice is optional for freshmen. All varsity athletes are required to
attend practice. If there is a serious problem, we'll talk about it. **Establish
good study habits now so you won't have to cram during exam week, and you
will be more relaxed!** |
