All medications to be taken during the school day must be
brought to the School Nurse by a parent, guardian or designated adult. Nurses
will only accept up to a 30 day supply of medication. Parent/guardian permission
must be in writing.
In addition, the following requirements must be met....
Over-the-counter Medications:
Physician authorization must be in writing for cough/cold remedies, throat
lozenges, and pain relievers such as Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, Aleve, etc.).
All medication must be in manufacturer labeled bottles.
Prescription Medications:
All medications must be in an original pharmacy labeled bottle (ask the
pharmacist to dispense a duplicate bottle for use at school). For short
term antibiotics or medications to be given for less than two weeks, the
parent/guardian signature and properly labeled bottle is sufficient authorization.
If the medication is to be administered for a longer time, physician authorization
must be in writing.
